Porcelain Veneers
Most of the smile makeovers you have seen on television or in magazines are the result of porcelain veneers. These custom made, thin strips of porcelain are bonded to the front of existing teeth to create a natural, beautiful smile. Dr. Blaustein artistically corrects issues like crooked teeth, chipped teeth, gaps in teeth and discolored teeth with porcelain veneers. Just a few appointments are all that separate you from the beauty and self-confidence that come from a brilliant smile.
Tooth Whitening
Zoom!™ – Zoom!™ whitening is a revolutionary new procedure that will give you brighter, whiter teeth in a single office visit. Zoom!™ whitening involves the application of a proprietary gel that, when exposed to a specialized light source, breaks down the stains on your teeth, leaving you with a beautiful smile. Most Zoom!™ whitening treatments take no more than an hour.
At home – Your custom home whitening kit from Chelsea Dental Aesthetics involves a special tray that is customized to fit over your teeth. You also receive prescription whitening gel, which you insert into the tray before you wear it. Dr. Blaustein gives you detailed instructions about how long you should wear the tray each day – usually 30 minutes to one hour, or overnight - and you should expect the entire home whitening process to take between two and four weeks, leaving you with a dazzling smile.
Invisalign™
Invisalign™ uses a series of clear aligners that are custom-molded to fit your teeth. Using computer aided design software, a series of aligners are created that you will change out approximately every two weeks. Over time, the virtually invisible aligners reposition your teeth without the use of metal braces or bands. Most people will not be able to tell you are in treatment. An entire treatment with Invisalign averages just six months to one year.
Porcelain Bridges
Sometimes gum disease, injury, decay or simply wear results in the loss of a tooth. A large gap in your smile can create significant problems for your dental health if it isn’t corrected. Over time your bite pressure may shift to other parts of your mouth to compensate for an inability to chew efficiently in the area of the missing tooth. Neighboring teeth may begin to move about, moving into the gap and resulting in discomfort, pain and more problems down the road. Porcelain bridges “bridge the gap” in your smile. Dr. Blaustein creates a lifelike, functional bridge to correct your smile, restore your bite and alleviate your discomfort. A porcelain bridge is created out of metal, alloys or porcelain and utilizes the teeth on both sides of the gap as its supportive structure. After some preparation of the two neighboring teeth, crowns are created for them. A third crown is fused between the other two crowns to fill the gap and the bridge is placed. A bridge is a semi-permanent dental restoration, meaning it can only be removed by a dentist, so you can rest assured that your porcelain bridge will be a lasting restoration to your oral health.
Porcelain Crowns
Your teeth undergo a tremendous amount of wear and tear during your lifetime. Teeth may show this wear in a variety of ways, including discoloration, chipping and cracking. Crowns restore your teeth and your smile to look brilliant once again. Porcelain crowns can be made out of porcelain pressed to metal or are porcelain throughout and can be shaded to match your other teeth. Crowns made of precious metal are also an option. After some tooth preparation, crowns are specially fitted to give you back the look and functionality of your smile. You can also rely on crowns to correct bite problems, close spaces between teeth and alleviate pain when chewing or temperature sensitivity. Ask Dr. Blaustein or his team if crowns are for you.
Tooth Colored Fillings
For years, silver-mercury was the primary material used by dentists to fill cavities. Today, tooth-colored restorations are superior, both in appearance and in durability. A tooth colored filling is made of a mixture of microscopic ceramic and glass particles dispersed in a plastic resin that can be bonded to teeth. The material comes in a wide range of shades and can be molded and sculpted to create almost any shape or contour. The fact that the resin is bonded means a seal is formed to reduce the chance of leakage, which is common with silver fillings. If you are unhappy with your old, silver fillings, Dr. Blaustein can replace them with tooth colored fillings.
Implants
A dental implant is one of the most permanent forms of restorative dentistry and can be used to restore a single tooth or several teeth. Dental implants involve the placement of a surgical grade titanium post directly into your jawbone by Dr. Blaustein, or a trusted specialist. As the bone bonds to the post, it forms a secure foundation for the attachment of a crown or a prosthetic tooth that is custom created for you. Implants are sometimes used instead of bridges to maintain the integrity of the teeth on either side of the gap. Learn More...
Implant Supported Dentures
While typical dentures shift and require the use of denture adhesives to keep them in place, implants fit solidly, reducing the problems associated with traditional dentures such as gum sores, difficulty speaking and difficulty chewing. Implant supported dentures distribute your biting pressure more like natural teeth than traditional dentures, stimulating the supportive structures of your teeth and preventing the bone and soft tissues from shrinking away. You can replace an entire set of teeth with beautiful, natural-looking implants. Learn More...
Periodontal Therapy
Periodontal dentistry refers to caring for the gum and bone structures that support your teeth. Without a healthy foundation, your ability to keep your teeth throughout your lifetime could be at risk. Ironically, this branch of dentistry is the least recognized and despite its importance, many of us unknowingly neglect our gums. This can result in infection and disease without us even knowing about it.
You can ensure the health of your gums and supportive structures at Chelsea Dental Aesthetics. Dr. Blaustein’s comprehensive approach to dentistry ensures that no element of your dental health will be overlooked. Your access to our advanced periodontal therapy programs is your key to the restoration of your gums and the prevention of future problems.
Bonding
Bonding is a tooth-colored material applied and adhered to the surface of the tooth without reducing the structure of the tooth in most cases. Once adhered, Dr. Blaustein sculpts the material to create a natural-looking tooth. Bonding corrects chipped and broken teeth, discolored teeth and in some cases can correct gaps. It is less expensive than veneers but doesn’t last as long and can stain. A benefit of bonding is that generally, the natural structure of the tooth can be maintained.
Gum Contouring
Many people with “gummy smiles” don’t know that there are treatments available to cosmetically enhance the look of your gums. Dr. Blaustein can shape and sculpt your gum tissue, giving your gums a more aesthetic appearance. With the addition of beautiful porcelain veneers, your gummy smile disappears, revealing a bright, youthful smile that looks natural and proportioned. The entire process takes just a few visits and because of advancements in cosmetic techniques, your comfort is assured. Call Chelsea Dental Aesthetics and begin transforming your smile today!
Digital Radiographs (X-Rays)
Digital radiographs are a technological advancement that results in less exposure to radiation for our patients and an almost instantaneous picture for our dentists. Unlike traditional, film-based x-rays, digital x-rays often show more detail and can be archived in our system for future reference and comparison. You will appreciate a more comfortable visit with less waiting and quicker treatment.
Oral Cancer Screening
As comprehensive dentists, Dr. Blaustein offer routine oral cancer screenings to you as a patient. As dentists, they are in the only medical profession to evaluate routinely and detect these abnormalities early. Chelsea Dental Aesthetics offers the ViziLite Oral Cancer Screening exam. This exam is quick, painless and, in addition to conventional oral cancer screenings, can lead to the early detection of oral abnormalities. Dr. Blaustein are dedicated to providing this potentially life-saving procedure for you.
