Benefits of Clear Braces

Do you wish your teeth were less crooked? Do you stick with close-lipped smiles in photographs? Clear braces can give you the smile you’ve always dreamed of — without the hassles of metal braces — so you can feel good about your grin.

If you’re ready to say goodbye to crooked teeth and fall in love with your smile, Invisalign® is available at Chelsea Dental Aesthetics in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City.

Below, Dr. David Blaustein highlights the many benefits — both from a health standpoint and a cosmetic one — of clear braces.

What can clear braces do for you?

Invisalign doesn’t just straighten your teeth — although that’s a huge benefit all on its own. Invisalign clear aligners can tackle many orthodontic concerns, including:

The many benefits of Invisalign

Not only can Invisalign address orthodontic concerns without traditional metal braces, but it offers the following benefits as well:

Discreet treatment

If you’ve postponed braces because you don’t want a shiny metal mouth, you’re not alone. But Invisalign can help you reach your goals — discreetly.

Invisalign clear aligners are made from a soft, BPA-free material that’s nearly invisible. So you can get the orthodontic care you need without anyone else realizing it.

Comfortable treatments

Clear braces are also much more comfortable than metal braces. The metal brackets and wires used in traditional braces are well known for causing lacerations, blisters, and cuts on the insides of your cheeks and lips.

Invisalign trays are smooth and fit easily right over your teeth. They’re also customized to fit perfectly against your gumline.

The shifting process is more comfortable too. Adjustments with traditional braces can leave your entire mouth sore. Many people are stuck with a soft or liquid diet for a few days after adjustments.

Adjustments with Invisalign, on the other hand, are much gentler. Instead of tightening wires, you simply switch your tray. Each new tray gently and gradually shifts your teeth closer and closer to their ideal location. This process is much easier on your teeth.

Convenient treatments

Although you should wear your clear aligner trays for at least 20-22 hours per day, they’re removable. This means that you don’t have to give up your favorite snacks (like popcorn!). You simply eat, brush and floss, and then replace your trays.

Not only does Invisalign eliminate dietary restrictions, but it also makes brushing and flossing much easier.

Precise treatment planning

Thanks to 3D computer imaging technology and ClinCheck® software, your entire treatment is mapped out from day one. The process is faster, more efficient, and incredibly predictable.

Health benefits

Clear braces also provide several health benefits. For example, straightening your teeth can reduce the risk of interproximal cavities from forming between teeth.

If crowding makes it hard to floss properly between teeth, there’s a greater chance of cavities developing in those spots. Clear braces straighten your teeth so it’s easier to floss between all of your teeth.

Clear braces can also eliminate jaw pain (from a bad bite) and make it easier to chew and speak clearly.

Increased self-esteem

When you love your smile, it shows. Whether you’re bothered by large gaps between your teeth or crooked teeth, clear braces help you achieve the smile you’ve always wanted.
